Publishing Public Sector Information

We have published guidance about how to publish Public Sector Information (PSI). The release of PSI creates opportunities for innovative use and reuse of data, and allows the commercial, research and community sectors to add value. Releasing PSI also assists government in making evidence-based policy and service delivery decisions, and supports increased citizen participation in government.

Updated Web Guide Content

We have now completed Web Guide content updates to incorporate recent reforms to the Freedom of Information Act 1982.  The Online Content Requirements have been revised following the introduction of the Information Publication Scheme on 1 May 2011 which also prescribes government information to be published online – so there are now two places to check for what information needs to be published on your website! The Freedom of Information (FOI) page provides the updated FOI responsibilities of agencies, and the Privacy & Privacy Statements page has been updated now that the responsibility for privacy has moved to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner. Happy to receive any feedback…
